HEPA Air Conditioner: An Amazing Combination
What’s an Air Conditioner?
Of course, we all have an idea what an air conditioner is. It is something that provides comfort and coolness indoors if the weather is too hot. But, there must be some universal or shall we say, official definition of this appliance. According to a certain website, an Air Conditioner is an appliance that is effectively designed to extract heat and humidity from the air within a certain area. The cooling is done by a very simple refrigeration cycle. Within the appliance, there are certain pieces that remove great amounts of water vapor from the air in order to make it drier. Drier air could improve the comfort that is the natural perspiration process in humans give.
What is HEPA?
No, this is not the hepa that you are possibly thinking of—the illness hepa or hepatitis. HEPA is an acronym for High Efficiency Particulate Air filter. This is a type of a very efficient air filter that is composed of a mat of randomly arranged fibers. These fibers are usually made of fiberglass and have diameters ranging from 0.5 to 2.0 micrometers. Unlike ordinary sieves that still allow particles much smaller than their openings to pass through, the HEPA air filter traps even smaller particles. It does this through a combination of three mechanisms. The first of these mechanisms is the one known as Interception. This is where particles moving through a line of flow in the air stream come within one radius of a fiber and just stick to it. The second of these mechanisms is the one known as Impaction, where larger particles are unable to avoid fibers by following the curving contours of the air stream. These bigger particles are then forced to embed in one of them directly. This effect increases with diminishing fiber separation and higher air flow velocity. The last one is Diffusion. This is an enhancing mechanism that arises from the collision of gas molecules and the smallest particles, especially those below 0.1 micrometer in diameter, which are thereby hindered and delayed in their path through the filter. This behavior is somewhat parallel to Brownian motion. It becomes dominant at lower air flow velocities.
Hepa Air Conditioner
Now that we have defined the two key components of the term ‘hepa air conditioner,’ let us now look at what this combination do and offer to a lot of consumers around. As said, air conditioners dehumidify the air. This means that these appliances reduce the water vapor content of the air, making it drier and comfortable. When combined with the amazing things that a Hepa filter could do, really, the air that makes you comfortable in a room will also be very clean and more contaminant-free as the particles and dust in it are effectively removed by the Hepa filter. Hence, it is really good is you are going to buy a hepa air conditioner. They are not that hard to find anyway. You just have to go online and just keep on clicking until you have found the right site that deals hepa air conditioners. You just need a little patience!
